In the Genomics group we focus on both developing new gene technologies and apply these technologies in a biological context.
Among the technology development projects are new methods and instruments: for 3rd generation DNA sequencing (EU Digital), for detection of circulating tumor cells (EU MIRACLE) and microbes (sepsis), and for spatial single cell analysis.
In addition we are developing robotics and automation solutions for massive parallel sequencing to improve sample preparation procedures for the genomics platform. The set of technologies are used in many collaborative efforts including investigation of chemoresistance in cancer (EU CHEMORES), tumor and tissue development, and clinical genetics. In parallel we are involved in the Norwegian spruce genome initiative to describe one of first very large conifer genomes.
