Fritzi Töpfer awarded the IEEE MTT-S Graduate Fellowship for Medical Applications

PhD student Fritzi Töpfer has been selected to receive an IEEE MTT-S Graduate Fellowship for Medical Applications for her research on skin cancer diagnosis using a micromachined microwave probe. The award is granted by the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) each year to up to two PhD students pursuing a graduate degree focused on applying microwave engineering to medical applications and will be presented at a special Student’s Luncheon held during the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) in Phoenix, AZ, USA on Thursday, 21 May 2015.

Fritzi Töpfer   is developing a skin cancer diagnostic tool based on micromachined interface for high-resolution THz spectroscopy. The research is led by RF-MEMS team leader Joachim Oberhammer . More information can be found in the project page .
