Research Engineer for Analysis and Control of System Dynamics models

Job description

The Division of Decision and Control Systems is currently looking for a research engineer with an engineering background and interest in control systems, mathematics, programming, and learning for control. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team on the project: developing a framework for analysis and control of system dynamics models. We propose, for this pre-study, to focus on the use case of policy synthesis for faster adoption of electric trucks.

The Division of Decision and Control Systems conducts fundamental research in networked control systems, cyber-physical systems, system identification, and transport systems. Industrial projects involve partners such as Hitachi Energy, ABB, Ericsson, and Scania. A major part of the research is conducted within the framework of the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program. We have a large academic network and collaborate with researchers at Caltech, MIT, UC Berkeley, Stanford, among others.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence. 
  • Good command in English, as it is required in the daily work.    
  • Knowledge of Python.

Preferred qualifications

  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality

  • Familiarity with Tensorflow or PyTorch

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The employment is valid for a limited time according to the agreement - for up to 4 months, with access according to agreement.
