Postdoc in THz-fältsynthesis
KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Engineering Sciences
Job description
The project aims to conduct experimental and theoretical studies, as well as technology development, related to the synthesis of electric and magnetic fields at THz frequencies using nonlinear optical interactions. These studies are expected to yield demonstrations of novel methods for temporal and spatial field manipulation and characterization, approaching quantum noise levels. The methods and associated components will have applications in the measurement of novel magnetic materials, future generations of particle acceleration, measurements of chiral molecules, free-space communication, and elsewhere.
The successful completion of the project will result in the development of hyperspectral 3D electric field imaging techniques in the THz spectral range, utilizing ultrashort lasers and nonlinear optical methods.
The work will be conducted at KTH Laser Lab research infrastructure facility, which offers a broad range of experimental capabilities and a stimulating collaborative research environment.
