Job description
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to develop data-driven positioning methods for 6G using graph neural networks (GNNs). The focus is on robust localization under non-line-of-sight (NLOS), multipath and blockage, as well as uncertainty estimation.
You will:
- Model and analyse radio scenarios (MIMO, possibly RIS and cooperative/V2X localization).
- Design datasets (synthetic via ray tracing/simulation) and/or conduct measurement campaigns.
- Develop GNN-based algorithms for position estimation and NLOS mitigation.
- Validate methods in realistic settings.
The work is conducted within a collaborative research environment with partners in wireless, machine learning and signal processing.
Qualifications
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
- Strong background in machine learning/deep learning, especially GNNs.
- Expertise in wireless localisation/radio propagation/signal processing.
- Excellent programming skills (Python, PyTorch/JAX or similar) and version control.
- Excellent English proficiency in speech and writing (required for international research and publication).
- Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
Preferred qualifications
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
