Postdoc in Integrated Transport Emissions and Health Assessment

KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Architecture and Built Environment

Job description

Work on EU projects to develop next‑generation transport, emission and health forecasting models by integrating deep learning, xAI, and diverse data sources such as traffic sensors, smart‑card data and behavioural surveys. You will work directly with multiple municipalities and regions to design, implement, and refine monitoring and evaluation protocols including the monitoring framework for pilot activities, ensuring that analytical insights are aligned with local needs and operational realities.

The role also includes contributing to project management, preparing reports, co‑supervising research engineers, and collaborating closely with other project members.

The two positions will contribute to complementary but distinct research directions –

  1. Transport, Energy and Emissions This position focuses on modelling and forecasting how transport activity interacts with energy use and emissions over time.
  2. Transport Emissions and Health This position centres on understanding and forecasting the health impacts of transport‑related emissions.

In both positions, the overarching ambition is to extend large‑scale transport simulation models into next generation transdisciplinary frameworks that integrate energy, emission, and health models, enabling comprehensive long‑term impact assessment.
