Building innovation capabilities to address societal challenges in a network of governmental authorities

Funded by:  Vinnova (Sweden’s Innovation Agency)
Time period: Autumn 2019 – December 2021
Project partners: KTH, 12 government agencies, Implement Consulting Group

Aim and main expected results

The aim of our research is to build knowledge on as well as develop concrete tools and methods to improve the innovation capability in a network of Swedish governmental authorities collaborating to address the societal challenge of organised crime.

We are particularly interested in identifying tensions and opportunities emerging due to different factors such as professional and cultural diversity when authorities are collaborating to address complex societal challenges. In addition, to understand how innovation management system frameworks and frameworks for handling uncertainty can improve their identification and implementation of innovative solutions.
