Higher Seminar: Air Epistemologies: Practices of Ecopoetry in Ibero-American Atmospheres

Nuno Marques is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Environmental Humanities Laboratory and a visiting researcher at the Center for Social Studies, Coimbra, Portugal, working with epistemological contributions of ecopoetry to the environmental humanities.

Nuno's project Air Epistemologies: Practices of Ecopoetry in Ibero American Atmospheres  is funded by the Swedish Research Council, and focuses on breathing and suffocating in ecopoetry as creating embodied and situated knowledges that infiltrate Eurocentric and North American worldviews. He defended his thesis "Atmospheric and geological entanglements: north american ecopoetry and the anthropocene" at Umeå university in 2020. Nuno is also a poet and a translator of ecopoetry.
