Photos from the end of the world

We would be looking at photos from many different places where my field trips have taken me over the last few years, each of them considered a liminal space, the end of the world for some respect. We will pay a virtual visit to Wakkanai, Japan’s northernmost city, and Puerto Williams, Chile’s southernmost city, lava caves and suicide forest at Mt Fuji and the sites of Great Tohoku Earthquake of 2011, along with the exclusion zone of Fukushima.

We would use these photos as a trigger to have a conversation on what it means to visit places that relate to your research and is it any use for historians?
