Beyond Climate Obstruction: Climate Narratives on the Chinese-Speaking Internet

John Chung-En Liu  is an Associate Professor of Sociology with a joint appointment in the International Degree Program in Climate Change and Sustainable Development (IPCS) at National Taiwan University.

His research primarily employs sociological perspectives to investigate climate change and environmental issues. Since returning to Taiwan, he's actively contributed to domestic climate policy, focusing on carbon pricing and Just Transition in Taiwan.

In 2024, he was a visiting scholar at the Community & Environmental Sociology department at University of Wisconsin-Madison. In previous times, he has been at Occidental College, Harvard Kennedy School, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Yale University.
