About me
Teacher and researcher, I have been working since 2022 at the Department of Real Estate Management and Construction at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).
My higher education began at Donetsk National Technical University, Ukraine, where I graduated in 2003 with a degree in Geoinformation Systems and Technology. In 2008, I completed a Master’s program in Land Management at KTH.
My path as a researcher began with PhD studies at Donetsk National Technical University in 2006. I defended my dissertation in 2011 on “Real Estate Valuation Exposed to the Negative Impact of Underground Mining Operations,” which was followed by my appointment as Associate Professor at Donetsk National Technical University in 2012. In 2014, I fulfilled the requirements for docent and received official recognition of this title.
From 2014 to 2020, I served as Associate Professor at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture in the Department of Land Management and Cadastre, conducting both research and teaching.
In addition to my academic work, I have been practicing as a certified real estate appraiser since 2005.
My current research focuses on urban development overall with a special focuse on post-war reconstruction in Ukraine, emphasizing Cost-Benefit Analysis as a tool for evidence-based, democratic, transparent and sustainable decision-making. My study develops both theoretical frameworks and practical applications that combine quantitative CBA with participatory processes, ensuring that reconstruction is efficient, inclusive, transparent, and socially fair. Comparative case studies from Sweden and other countries inform best practices for adaptation in Ukrainian communities affected by the war.
As a teacher, I currently deliver courses at both bachelor’s and master’s levels and supervise master’s theses.
