About me
Architect and Master's in Sustainable Urban Planning and Design with a PhD in Sustainability and Urban Regeneration from ETSAM of Madrid. My main interest lies in urban design, form and the built environment and how we can translate theory into practice. I work and teach in areas of construction, architecture, urban planning and urban design, and in how they are interconnected. I have experience in participatory processes in urban planning and design, user-oriented design and construction, and in addressing environmental impact through place-sensitive, sustainable, and healthy building technologies, with sustainability and resilience at the core of system thinking, adaptability, evolution, and change.
In my research, I look for aspects of urban form that foster complexity and evolution, with a focus on the user's perspective. I look to the history of urbanism to understand how our cities have been conceived and shaped in relation to their cultural, political and economic context, to formulate the questions that shall inform sustainable urban design in the long run.
