Jaime Montes Bentura

Architect and Master in Sustainable Urban Planning and Design with interest in the sustainable built environment and how we can translate theory into practice. I work and teach in areas of construction, architecture, urban planning and urban design, and in how they are interconnected. I have wide experience in participatory processes in urban planning and desing, user oriented design and construction, and deal with environmental impact through place sensitive, sustainable and healthy building technologies,  being central the notions of sustainability and of resilience as system thinking, adaptability, evolution and change.

In my research I look for those aspects of urban form that foster complexity and evolution, with a focus in the perspective of the user. I look to history of urbanism to understand how our cities have conceived and have been shaped in relation to their cultural, political and economic context, in order to formulate the questions that shall inform urban design sustainable in the long run.
