TUTORIAL NO. 5

Tutorial 5: Holistic design

3. A positioning chart showing your position in relation to your competitors

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positioning_(marketing)

This is an example of a positioning chart.

4. A product differentiation strategy

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Product_differentiation

1. A revised submission of Tutorial 4

You should revise your submission according to the feed-back that you have received.

2. A case-study

Since our context is positioned in 2050 you will have to identify a relevant situation today in order to be able to execute the in-depth real-life testing of your project. Please read the first two sections of this text. More on exploratory (or pilot) case studies: http://research-methodology.net/research-methodology/research-design/exploratory-research/

3. A polished design of your product, service, etc.

Further development of your design sketches should be presented. Production and quality are in focus. Make as many design sketches as possible. Involve all members of the group. Maybe each member is to come up with a certain number of sketches in order to boost quantity? Maybe you run a sketch relay where you take over someone else sketches and develop those further? DON'T BE TOO CRITICAL AT THIS STAGE. MAKE SURE YOU STRETCH THE DESIGN LIMITS. PRINT OUT ALL YOUR MATERIAL AND PIN-UP ON WALL AT THE TUTORIAL SESSION. The physical pin-up allows us to view a large amount of ideas and sketches at the same time on a larger scale. It also allows us to interact more directly with the material, allowing us to reorganise it on the wall, add, take away and even sketch on top of it. Bring blanc paper and pencils. Open your senses and dare to test and push your design and ideas!

4. A logotype

5. A tag-line

6. A weekly reflection of the group dynamics

Submit a summary on how the group has worked during the past week. What has worked well and what has not? What do you need to change in order to improve the efficiency and well-being of the group?

7. Feed-back of another group's submission of Tutorial 5

Your feed-back should be uploaded next to the group's number that you are giving feed-back. This should be done right after the Tutorial session is finished.
