Course description

Introduction

The course consists of seminars on electrical machines, power electronics, electric traction and electric and hybrid drive systems.

Aim

When you have passed the course, you should be able to relate theoretical knowledge to industrial usefulness. The invited speakers from universities or industry define the content of the course. The content is related to:

• Electrical machine applications: pumps, fans, electrical vehicles, generators etc…

• Power electronics applications: trains, electrical vehicles, switch-mode power supplies etc…

• Research in industry

Course structure and language

A certain number of seminars are given during periods 1-2 and 3-4. Seminars are given in English.

Requirements

In order to pass the course, the student has to participate in at least eight seminars and hand in the course certificate filled in with relevant information to the course responsible. Please note that less than 8 seminars may be given each semester (1-2 and 3-4), which means that you usually have to attend seminars during more than one semester.

The seminars are announced via KTH social.

Course certificate

It is required that you maintain a list of all the seminars that you attend. In the menu to the right, you find the course certificate that you should print out and then fill in as you attend the various seminars. When you have attended the required 8 seminars, submit the certificate to the Course administrator.
