Seting up VirtualBox

Download VirtualBox https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads (Links to an external site.) 

Download ubuntu https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop (Links to an external site.)

Install ubuntu in virtualbox:

  1. Add:

Recommended requirements for ubuntu (less might be enough, like 2 GB memory):

  • 2 GHz dual core processor or better
  • 4 GB system memory
  • 25 GB of free hard drive space

If 64-bit is missing as an option in VirtualBox, make sure Virtual Technology is enabled in bios. On a Windows machine you also need to turn off Hyper-V.

  1. Settings

Storage -> Controller IDE -> Empty -> disk image -> choose virtual optical disk file… 

Locate ubuntu*.iso

  1. Start and follow the ubuntu installation.
  2. Open termin 

sudo apt-get install build-essential
