Course selection

As an exchange student you have to take at least 50% of your courses from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). All courses with a course code that starts with an “D, E and I” belong to School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. 30 credits represent full time studies at KTH. Courses in Swedish language and/or society can be excluded from the 30 ECTS credit maximum.The academic year at KTH is divided into two semesters, autumn and spring, and each semester into two periods. Period 1 and 2 cover autumn term, period 3 and 4 spring term.

To find the timetable for the courses you are taking at KTH, please visit the Schedule Search. Please note that the schedules of the courses may collide, so it is wise to check their schedule before you decide on which courses to take. Some collisions may be manageable, but to what degree is for you to decide for yourself. If you take courses from one programme only, the courses are however usually separated.

Study Plan


Even if you have sent your study plan or Learning Agreement with your application – by that time the schedule was not published and experience shows that many changes have to be made due to overlaps. Also a lot of courses have more options (application codes) per course code and the correct one has to be selected.
You choose courses for autumn semester by selecting them in an online form. Deadline for selecting courses is ........... You find the online form here:

In order to get a correct course choice you have to enter the course code, application code and course name. This information you find in the course catalogue mentioned above. Further down in the form you also can select Swedish language courses and you have to specify which course option you are interested in.

Swedish language Courses

We offer language courses in Swedish with no fee for our exchange students. The courses during the semesters are taught at the main campus every second week. You can find more information about the Swedish courses here.
