On the 8th April the at the Division of History of Science, Technology and Environment will host a workshop on the topic: Challenging the Status Quo: Research, Writing and Activism. The speakers at the workshop will range from prominent academics on different fields to activists and artists.

We are very proud to announce that Rob Nixon , Rachel Carson & Elizabeth Ritzmann Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will be our special guest. His most recent book Slow Violence and The Environmentalism of the Poor is a crucial point of departure for this seminar.

The general topic for the workshop is writing and activism, and some of the questions to be addressed are how to better communicate research inside and outside academia, how to voice and address issues outside the mainstream concerns, and how to address more traditional concerns in innovative ways.

A detailed schedule for the workshop will be circulated to all those expressing their interest in participating.

A limited number of places are available. If you are interested in taking part, contact Isabel Perez no later than the 1st April.

The workshop is a pre-event to the film festival , also organised by KTH Environmental Humanities Labratory.
