The Human Brain Project, which combines brain research with ICT (Information and Communications Technology), has been chosen to receive funding from the EU through the Future and Emerging Technologies, FET, Flagship program.

She studies electronic waste and its effects on humans

Computers, tablets and mobile phones are all popular consumer products. The lifespan of these devices is usually short, between two to four years. Shakila Umair, researcher at KTH, travelled to Pakistan to see how these common electronic devices are dismantled and recycled. She investigated the harsh living conditions of people working with e-waste.

The President's visit at CSC

President Peter Gudmundson visited early this year CSC to be shown the excellent research conducted at the school. The visit took place at the VIC-Sthlm, a new meeting place for visualization here at the School of Computer Science and Communication.

Department of Numerical Analysis has moved to School of Engineering Science. NA is now a part of the Department of Mathematics.
