Information about email at KTH and CSC
There are multiple email systems at KTH. All KTH employees and students have a central email address, «user»@kth.se. Those who are affiliated with CSC also have a local email address connected to their login account, «user»@csc.kth.se (and some variations of this under other CSC domains).
For newly created student login accounts, a forward is set up from the CSC mail address to the central email. Thus, email to «user»@csc.kth.se will be automatically forwarded to «user»@kth.se.
You are entitled to keep the central KTH email address after you leave KTH. It is therefore a good idea to use that address for all KTH-related (or even private) communication, as well as on any publications or other material that may be still be relevant after you leave KTH. The CSC email will, like your login account, be deactivated some time after you leave KTH.
Employees at CSC may use the local email, and forward the central email here. This setting can be changed on My Pages. An advantage in using the local email is that it is adminstered by Systemgruppen, who are often more cognizant of CSC-specific needs. (The central email is administered by IT SupportCenter for multiple schools and departments.)
