The entire field of Information and communication technology
We are one of ten schools within KTH – the Royal Institute of Technology. Our activities span the entire field of information technology in its widest sense. We work with both the technical solutions and systems.
Our research is predominantly in the fields of nanoelectronics, photonics, electronics and computer systems, software technology, communication and cognitive sciences. We offer an attractive range of educational programs at both BSc, MSc and PhD levels in engineering.
We are on the Campus Kista – in the center of one of the world’s leading ICT clusters. Through our colaboration with Stockholm University at the Campus IT Kista, we are able to expand the perspective to the interplay between technology and people.
KTH Kista is together with the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences at Stockholm Univeristy the leading ICT campus in Sweden. It is situated in the heart of Kista Science City - one of the most important ICT clusters in the world with multinational companies such as Ericsson, IBM, Oracle, Tele2, TietoEnator and Nokia as well as a number of ICT startup companies. In total there are more than 1.100 ICT companies represented in Kista. The Campus is also close to shops, restaurants and communication and conveniently located between Arlanda Airport and Stockholm City.
The Campus has about 5,000 full-time students from KTH and Stockholm University. About 2 000 are KTH students. This is a multifaceted campus with students and faculty from all over the world.
We occupy two buildings and our facilities are modern. Part of our campus is the Electrum laboratory – one of Sweden’s largest and most important clean-rooms, and the Forum Library – the most modern IT library in Sweden.
