The symposium will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, May 21-25, 2023, at Vår Gård Saltsjöbaden, a beautiful conference venue with cultural-historical buildings in Stockholm archipelago environment.
The scope of ASST 2023 is to encompasses all aspects of aluminum surface science and technology including state-of-the-art surface modification methods and technological advances, characterization and modelling methods, performance evaluation, and industrial process development.

Focus on green technology
Focused industrial sectors are aerospace, automotive, heat exchangers, architecture, energy applications, electronics, lithography, packaging, nanotechnology, etc. Further, green technology solutions will be an important part of the ASST 2023. Specific fields of interest include, but are not limited to, rolling and extrusion processes, material deformation effects, joining processes, multi-material assemblies, wet chemical surface processing, electrolytic processing, thermo-mechanical processing, adhesion and organic interactions, plasma-based surface modification technologies, corrosion and protection mechanisms, self-sealing coatings, and other functional properties of products.
Aluminum companies will be represented, as will surface treatment suppliers, industrial end-users, instrument manufacturers, and researchers from the international scientific community. The oral sessions will be complemented by dedicated poster sessions allowing all researchers, new and established specialists, to present and discuss their work in a high scientific and technical environment.
