Why did you choose this master's programme at KTH?

My long-term goal has always been to build my own venture, and I knew I needed a programme that could give me more than just technical knowledge. I was looking for a place where I could sharpen my technical skills, get real exposure to business and entrepreneurship, build an international network, and be surrounded by people who are genuinely driven. ICT Innovation at KTH offered exactly that combination. What stood out to me was how closely the programme connects to industry. It does not treat technology and business as separate disciplines, which is rare. I also wanted to study in an environment where innovation feels tangible, not theoretical, and Stockholm and KTH gave me that. It felt like the right place to grow into the kind of professional I want to become.

Have you chosen a specialisation track within the programme? Which track and why?

Yes, I chose the Data Science track. It was the most natural fit given my background in NLP and machine learning, but the decision was not just about continuity. I specifically wanted to go deeper into language engineering and transformer-based models, which are areas I have been working in professionally for years, but wanted to explore more rigorously at an academic level. The Data Science track gave me that space. It also connected well with my broader interest in building AI products, because the coursework pushes you to think not just about how models work but about how they can be applied to solve real problems. That combination of depth and applicability is exactly what I was looking for.

How would you describe your time at KTH so far?

Challenging, explorative, and genuinely impactful. KTH pushes you to do things, not just study them, and that has made a real difference in how I have grown. Within my first year, I built real data products as part of coursework, competed in an international hackathon in the health tech space where my team won 3rd place, and started co-founding an AI startup born directly out of that experience. I also got involved in entrepreneurship programmes within the KTH ecosystem. It has been a lot, but in a way that felt purposeful. Every experience connected back to something I was genuinely trying to build or learn, and that made even the hard moments feel worth it.

What do you want to do after graduating?

I am already working toward it during the programme. I am currently co-founding an AI startup in the healthcare space, and building that has made it clear to me that the path I want is in founding and growing ventures that use data to solve meaningful problems. After graduating, I want to continue developing that venture and eventually expand into other problem spaces where AI can create real impact. If the right industry role helps accelerate that journey, I am open to it, but the direction is already clear, and I am actively moving toward it.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master's studies?

Go for it and trust the process. KTH is genuinely rigorous, and it will challenge you more than you expect, but it also gives you opportunities that most programmes simply cannot match. I came here for the degree and ended up launching a startup, competing in international hackathons, and connecting with researchers, founders, and industry professionals who are shaping real solutions. The environment here takes you seriously as a future professional, not just as a student. If you are someone who wants to learn deeply and do meaningful things while you study, KTH is the right place. The experience will likely exceed what you imagined when you first applied.
