Accommodation for new students
Stockholm offers a range of housing opportunities, and the vast public transportation system makes it possible to study in one part of Stockholm and live in another. Unfortunately, KTH can not provide accommodation for all students coming to Stockholm, but we try to assist as many students as possible.
Accommodation for fee-paying students
KTH offers accommodation for up to 11 months for students paying tuition fees for a full bachelor's or master's programme at KTH, including those holding a scholarship covering the tuition fee. Students in the joint master's programmes provided by EIT Digital, InnoEnergy and EIT Urban Mobility programmes, Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering, Decentralized Smart Energy Systems, Security and Cloud Computing, and Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering (Nordic Five Tech) may also be offered housing for up to 11 months.
You apply for accommodation after you have been admitted to KTH and paid your first tuition fee instalment. The accommodation is located around Stockholm within commuting distance of all campuses and consists of both single rooms and studio apartments. KTH's accommodation services provide all the information you need about different kinds of accommodation, locations and rents .
Accommodation for students who don't pay fees
Students who are not paying tuition fees are not offered accommodation through KTH. We recommend you register in the relevant housing queues and start looking for housing on your own. KTH's accommodation services provide tips on how you can find housing .
Accommodation for exchange students
KTH aims to assist exchange students, including double degree and dual master’s students, in finding housing during their studies. However, housing is limited and not guaranteed. Usually, the chances of receiving a housing offer from KTH are higher before the spring semester, as fewer newly admitted students arrive then than at the start of the autumn semester. After you have been admitted for an exchange, double degree, or dual master’s at KTH, we will send you a link to the housing application. KTH’s housing services also provide tips on how you can find housing .
Accommodation for doctoral students
As part of our relocation services we offer housing for international academic staff, including doctoral students, coming from abroad to KTH.
