KTH International Buddy Program

Would you like to stay connected with KTH while making a difference for a student? As a mentor in the KTH International Buddy Program, you will have the opportunity to support a KTH student preparing for an exchange abroad and act as a global ambassador for KTH. The programme is open to KTH alumni living outside Sweden.

The KTH International Buddy Program is a mentoring programme that connects KTH students who are preparing to study abroad for one semester or one academic year with KTH alumni living outside Sweden. The programme aims to support the personal and professional development of both mentors and mentees and is built on an open, trusting and confidential relationship.

Mentors and mentees decide together how often they will meet. We recommend meeting at least twice per semester. The first meeting is an opportunity to get to know each other, while a later meeting could, for example, include a visit to the mentor's workplace.

The International Buddy Program is available in the countries where KTH students go on exchange and where engaged KTH alumni are available to participate as mentors.

"Me and Terrence met at the Dim Sum Place where we shared Cantonese Dim Sum. Dim Sum is small Chinese dishes, you order several of them and have them with tea. It was really delicious! We spoke about different stuff. Mostly about Singapore, life, work etc. We also spoke about our exchange semesters, Terrence´s in Sweden and mine so far in Singapore. Then we walked to a café where we took the picture and had some fika."
