Wangzhong Mu, ABB
A SSF mobility grant enabled Wangzhong Mu to spend valuable time at ABB during 2023. At the time Wangzhong was a researcher and docent at the department of Material Science and Engineering at KTH.
With the funding Wangzhong was able to spend 50% of his time at ABB where he contributed with his expertise in metallurgy. The overarching scope was utilization of electromagnetic metallurgy in clean steal production.
- For me, the opportunity provided me the industry working experience which is important for metallurgist, says Wangzhong.
The Foundation for Strategic Research, SSF, have a reoccurring call - Strategic Mobility - through which they finance the salary cost for researchers who want to move from industry to academia/research institute, or vice versa, for a period. The call normally opens in spring and closes in early fall.
Wangzhong Mu has since left KTH and currently works at Luleå University of Technology as an Associate Professor.
