MSc Advanced Energy Systems and AI (InnoEnergy)
The master’s programme in Advanced Energy Systems and AI prepares students to connect energy engineering with artificial intelligence, data science and digital technologies. The curriculum examines how intelligent, decentralised energy systems can support electrification, improve energy use and integrate storage, electric vehicle charging and flexible demand. Students develop technical expertise alongside an understanding of the economic and innovation questions surrounding these applications.
Advanced Energy Systems and AI at KTH
Delivered through InnoEnergy Masters+, this two-year, full-time programme comprises 120 ECTS credits and is taught in English. Students study at two universities in different European countries and, on successful completion, receive a master’s degree from each.
At KTH, first-year studies connect energy-system engineering with artificial intelligence, renewable technologies and the built environment. The second-year specialisation examines urban energy systems, applying forecasting, optimisation and machine learning to the relationships between electricity, heating, cooling, buildings and transport.
A final-year thesis brings engineering and digital methods together in a substantial research or applied project. Business, innovation and entrepreneurship learning at Esade Business School complements the technical curriculum, preparing students to contribute to the development and deployment of intelligent energy solutions.
