MSc Nuclear Energy (InnoEnergy)
The master’s programme in Nuclear Energy prepares students to address the engineering challenges of producing low-carbon electricity through nuclear power. The programme establishes a foundation in reactor behaviour, heat transfer and fluid flow, safety, radiation protection and the nuclear fuel cycle. Students then develop specialist expertise in an area of the sector, connecting scientific understanding with the practical demands of nuclear engineering.
Nuclear Energy at KTH
Delivered through InnoEnergy Masters+, this two-year, full-time programme comprises 120 ECTS credits and is taught in English. Students study at two universities in different European countries and, on successful completion, receive a master’s degree from each.
KTH Royal Institute of Technology normally hosts the first year, with studies in reactor technology, thermal-hydraulics, nuclear safety and fuels. Students then continue to a partner university in France, selecting a specialisation aligned with their interests, such as reactor engineering, plant design, operations, materials or the fuel cycle.
The programme culminates in a thesis undertaken with an industrial or research partner. Innovation and entrepreneurship education at Esade Business School complements technical study, helping students understand how engineering decisions connect with project development and the wider nuclear sector.
