What made you choose KTH and your master’s programme?

My interest in the field of machine learning started from my undergraduate thesis, which is a project involving machine learning techniques. As I enjoyed becoming more involved in the project, I also found that a solid knowledge base of machine learning would be a necessity if I want to go further on that road. Hence, I decided to further my study in this field. The master’s programme in Machine Learning provided by KTH perfectly meets my need. It is a well-designed programme that not only prepares the students with a solid foundation of basic knowledge but also provides them much practice in various areas. Furthermore, what I appreciate is that the programme is both research and career oriented.

What do you like most about KTH?

I enjoy the freedom to learn at KTH. It provides various courses among which you are free to have a try and pick the ones that you like most. The campus facilities are accessible to all the students are also of excellent quality. Large libraries, various laboratories, computer rooms with high-performance computers and classrooms opening 24 hours a day ensures that you can choose any place, any time you like to study and do research.

What are your impressions of Stockholm and Sweden?

Fascinating scenery and kind people! My breath is often taken away by the unsurpassed beauty of well-preserved architectures as well as the natural landscape! People in Sweden are so friendly that you would feel completely comfortable even though you don’t speak Swedish. Meanwhile, various opportunities are offered if you want to get insight into the marvelous culture of Sweden. I can tell you that a dozen of excellent museums in Stockholm are free to the public!

What do you like most about being here?

Summer in Sweden is the most enjoyable time being here. I love taking a whole sunny afternoon, roaming around Gamla Stan and appreciating the historical architecture as well as breath-taking waterscape. It also won’t take a long time for a stroll to Kungliga slottet (The Royal Palace), Stockholm Stadshus (Stockholm City Hall), Kungliga operan (Royal Swedish Opera), etc.

What is yor best memory so far from your time at KTH?

One of the best things about KTH is meeting various people, among which I have to mention the group projects I have participated in. KTH provides us with numerous chances to cooperate with different people from different countries. “Creativity is often sparked by the collision of ideas from different disciplines and cultures.” I highly agree with this idea.

What do you think are the differences between studying at KTH and your home university?

In my opinion, the courses at KTH are more adaptive to frontier technology, while my studies at my home university focus more on a solid foundation of knowledge. I highly admire those innovative updates of courses from previous years.
