Quantitative electron microscopy and physically based modelling of Cu precipitation in precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel 15-5 PH

  • The evolution of structure, size, number density and volume fraction of Cu precipitates in a stainless steel is characterized.
  • The evolution of precipitation is well described by the physically based Langer-Schwartz-Kampmann-Wagner modelling.
  • The physically based models show promise for predictive simulations in materials design and optimization.
