Group training on SEM

Researchers working with the electron microscopy

During February–March we offer training on the Scanning electron microscope (SEM) at Hultgren laboratory, together with licensing on Hitachi S3700N. The instructors are experienced researchers specializing on the instrument. This training opportunity is sponsored with a subsidised charge.

Get your SEM training and license on Hitachi S3700N at Hultgren laboratory. Thanks to the funding from RSEM centre at KTH there is a subsidised charge through a group training option.

The training is held February–March.

The maximum number of participants planned for this season is 12. Please register your interest with the instructors as soon as possible, mentioning your choice of training date-time combination from the list seen below.

Stages

The group training consists of 4 stages:

  1. Demonstration – 2 hours (group of 3) – By Wenli and Andrey
  2. Practice with instructor – 3 hours (group of 3) – By Wenli and Andrey
  3. Individual training – 3 hours or variable time (1 trainee at a time) – By Wenli or Andrey
  4. Examination for license - 2 hours (1 trainee at a time) – By Wenli

At the successful completion of stage 4, the trainee will get a driving license for the SEM.

Schedule

Stage 1 is planned on

  • 15/02 (09:00-11:00 and 13:00-15:00)
  • 27/02 (10:00-12:00)
  • 01/03 (10:00-12:00)

Stage 2 is planned on

  • 22/02 (09:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00)
  • 06/03 (13:00-16:00)
  • 08/03 (13:00-16:00)

Stage 3 and 4 will be planned based on individual’s training needs after discussion with the instructors.

Charges

The full program costs (including 3 hours of stage 3) 6000 SEK for all KTH users (except MSE department users). Additional bookings for stage 3, will be at normal rates.
