Chemical Engineering

The research at the Department of Chemical Engineering is directed towards three major application areas; energy, environment, and chemical engineering for new processes.

Within these main themes the research embraces a number of different subjects, such as catalysis, thermochemical conversion of biomass, energy processes, electrochemical energy converters, separation processes, resource recovery from waste and transport processes in different systems.

Fundamental chemical knowledge is combined with engineering tools in order to increase the in-depth understanding and to develop sustainable processes and products. An important component of the research is the link between experimental activities and advanced modelling.

This department belongs to the School of Engineering Sciences in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health .
