Annika Lang: The stochastic heat and wave equations on the sphere

Time: Wed 2021-05-26 15.15

Location: Zoom, email organisers

Lecturer: Annika Lang, Chalmers University

Abstract

The best studied examples of stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) are the stochastic heat and the stochastic wave equation. I will use these two examples on the sphere to give a short introduction to SPDEs and their numerical approximation.

This presentation includes joint work with David Cohen and Christoph Schwab.
