Abstract.

This paper covers and discusses intriguing paradoxes concerning several different mathematical disciplines. The aim of this essay is to present these paradoxes as well as provide relevant mathematical information. Furthermore possible solutions are presented. We start with motion in ancient Greece with The Flying Arrow Paradox by Zenon. We move on to set theory and Rus- sell’s Paradox, only to be stumped by Gödel’s Incompleteness Theorems. We visit the infinite in Grandi’s Series with a cross over to geometry in Gabriel’s Horn and The Banach-Tarski Paradox. Finally we end up in statistics and probability when we tackle Berkson’s Paradox.
