Sunghan Kim: Pre-colloquium — Some standard tools for the classical obstacle problem

Abstract:

The aim of this talk is to provide some general background for the classical obstacle problem. Among others, we shall review a few standard tools for the problem, such as the maximum principle, compactness arguments and monotonicity formulae.

This is a pre-colloquium targeted towards master and PhD students as a preparation for Alessio Figalli's colloquium talk  at 15:15.
