Sven Ove Hansson, “How to reconcile the multiculturalist and universalist approaches to science education”, Cultural Studies in Education, 13:517–523, 2018. In this article it is argued that the traditional ‘‘multiculturalist’’ and ‘‘universalist’’ approaches to science education both fail to recognize the strong continuities between modern science and its forerunners in traditional societies. By taking these continuities into account we can resolve the alleged conflict between adherence to modern science and respect for traditional cultures.
