Om mig
Ilka Jahn is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electric Power and Energy Systems, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. She received the M.Sc. degree in electric power engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, in 2015. At the end of her master, she spent one year at ABB Corporate Research in Sweden working on modulation strategies for Si/SiC multilevel converters. She received her Ph.D. in electrical engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, in 2021, with a thesis on protection for multiterminal HVDC grids. The research in her PostDoc at KTH (2021) focused on partially open software for HVDC. In 2022-2024, she was an independent junior group leader at RWTH Aachen University in the areas of HVDC and MVDC control and protection design and verification. Since June 2024 she has been with KTH Stockholm and her research interests include HVDC control and protection, partially open / re-configurable software, and smart converter design for easy system integration. Over the years, Ilka Jahn has received research funding for the above topics from StandUp (PI), MSCA-DN (coordinator), German Excellence Funding (PI, for research group in Aachen), and Horizon Europe (co-PI).
