6. Projects
Groups may have a maximum of 5 students (minimum 3), but the group must elect a group leader who is the contact person of the group. Leaders will propose a project by sending email to minock (på) kth.se, galter (på) kth.se and kpit (på) kth.se (See the exact form to use here). You must have a project idea approved by Monday April 11th or you will start losing 100 pts on the project each subsequent Tuesday. Note that the project proposal needs to identify one reference (or reference of a reference) from the Redbook that relates to the project. For project ideas look at last years projects.
By the date Thursday May 19th students must send a url that links to a 5 minute video demonstrating their project. They must also supply a url that links to a 4 page report that describes their project (see last year's reports as examples). Use Springer LNCS format. All members of groups will be charged a fine of 100 points every working day the report is late. (See the exact form of the email here)
Each Students will then be responsible for evaluating 5 other projects and, supplying their evaluations by Tuesday May 31st. Students not submitting evaluations in time will be charged a fine of 100 points. Note each student will be sent and email with the 5 randomly assigned projects that they are supposed to evaluate. The evaluation scale will beis email will give exact instructions, but as a heads up, you will evaluate projects according to the scale below. And you will then prepare an SQL file with INSERT statements to report your 5 evaluations. Exact instructions will be in this mail, to be sent shortly after May 19th. ¶
The evaluation scale is the following:
* The video: style: 1-5 substance: 1-5 overall: 1-5
* The report: style: 1-5 substance: 1-5 overall: 1-5
* Comments
1 very poor, 2 poor, 3 adequate, 4 good, 5 very good.
In a slogan ""Be grumpy and pound others hard. Or be easykind and go soft. Or gobe somewhere in between. Just be CONSISTENT!" Do not in any way read their earlier project proposals. Groups should not be punished in any way if they modified their proposals. ¶ When we send you your randomly generated assignment of 5 groups, review said groups by reading linked material here on social. Then we will ask you to send a .sql file to build a set of insert commands. Exact instructions will be in this mail, to be sent shortly after May 19th.f they deviated from earlier plans.¶
