Hey guys,
Seems that there was a lot of confusion regarding this 'theoretical SNR' in questions 4.2 and 4.3 for Assignment 2. Please disregard this issue in the latter questions .
Cheers,
//Hadi
The last tutorial for the course (Thursday) will be sort of a Q&A session: if you guys have some concepts related to the course, make sure you bring that up during the session.

Hey everybody,
Here is the material for tomorrow's tutorial (Tutorial 7) where we will be dealing with aspects of VQ, namely, optimal quantization, complexity, two-stage VQs, and split VQs.

Hey guys,
As far as Project 2 is concerned, there is no need for a presentation - just a report for each group. The deadline for the report is March 15th.

Hey everybody,
Here is the material for this week's tutorial (Tutorial 6), where we will deal more in details into scalar quantiazation, PCM, DPCM, etc... We will also introduce vector quantizaiton.
See you then!

Hey guys,
It seems that I might have to postpone reschedule/postpone the tutorial for tomorrow - I am rather swamped with other duties here at the department. We will most likely replace it with another session at the end of the course.
Apologies for any inconvenience.

Hey everybody,
Here is the material for the next tutorial where we will be deal in depth with quantization (Tutorial 5). As you can see the material is starting to get a bit more involved. So better try and be prepared, in order to fully benefit from the tutorial.
Cheers,

Hey guys,
In the next tutorial we will be covering the basics of scalar quantization (Tutorial 4). Since the interactive nature of the tutorials seems to be working, we will try to go more into that direction. This time my involvement should be minimal, and it is up to you guys to take the lead. The idea is to sit down in groups (during the tutorial), come up with some solution, and write it down on the board. So best if you guys sit down with problems before the tutorial.
Cheers,
//Hadi
