Abstract:

All of the (love) storeys take place on March 21st, the spring equinox, in and around a collaborative row house project by Aldo Rossi and Attilio Pizzigoni in Mozzo, Italy called Case Unifamiliari, where Beda Ring constructs a Campy renovation full of theatricality, humor and significant otherness. Formulated as a feminist project, written as a pulp fiction, Architectural Flirtations: A Love Storey calls for a shift in the architectural culture of critique. By displacing the center and the serious habits of a discipline, it questions our relation, as architects, teachers, researchers, even humans, to power and privilege, and in extension, how these aspects affect practices within architectural education, research, and the profession. Its aim is a more vulnerable, ethical and empowering shift through uncertainty, impropriety and playfulness.
