AdBIOPRO overview AdBIOPRO Competence Centre for Advanced BioProduction by Continuous Processing is a multi-disciplinary Centre gathering several groups of KTH, Lund University, Karolinska Cell Therapy Centre, and seven industries, Sobi, Cytiva, Cobra Biologics, XNK Therapeutics, BioInvent, MAGic Bioprocessing and Valneva AdBIOPRO focusses on continuous bioproduction for the production of antibodies and other glycoproteins, cells for cell therapy and viral vectors for gene therapy. The Centre includes cultivation and purification processes and aims at industrial manufacturing. Creating a highly synergetic environment, multiple disciplines gather in AdBIOPRO; Docent Veronique Chotteau, Director of AdBIOPRO, KTH-CBH - Intensified perfusion process, magnetic separation and viral vector production; Prof. Håkan Hjalmarsson and Elling Jacobsen, KTH-EECS – Mathematical modeling and feedback control Prof. Johan Rockberg, KTH-CBH – Omics; Prof. Torbjörn Gräslund, KTH-CBH – Viral vector product Prof. Bernt Nilsson, Lund Univ. – Modeling & optimization of purification process; Prof. Sophia Hober, KTH-CBH – New ligand for purification; Assoc. Prof. Pontus Blomberg, KCC – Immune cell production Continuous bioprocesses have small footprint in comparison with legacy batch processes. They can be produced with disposable equipment, which enables reproducing the manufacturing according to the demand, low or very high. It is therefore an excellent strategy to produce low volumes in normal case and be able to quickly multiply the production world-wide in case of very high need such as pandemies. Continuous process ensures as well very good control of the product quality. Previous Play/pause Next
