Work package 1 - USP New technologies & glycoprotein applications

In work package 1, the focus is to address new technologies for an intensified/continuous culture process, exploiting the knowledge accumulated within AdBIOPRO period 1 about perfusion processes.

This includes on one hand the development of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) for monitoring and control of perfusion processes, focusing on Raman-based approaches and on local surface plasmon resonance sensor technology. These tasks are integrated as well in the collaboration with work package 2 in its focus around feed-back control. On the another hand, the cell separation by centrifuge is explored as a new way to support process intensification. In line with the advantages brought by intensified/continuous bioprocessing, the sustainability is included in this work package. Finally, omics is used as support for process and cell characterization in this work package in collaboration with work packages 2, 4 and 5.
