Division of Surface and Corrosion Science

Surface and Corrosion Science are carrying out research in the interdisciplinary area between surface chemistry, corrosion, tribology and biotechnology.

Picture showing the four areas of research on surfaces:

Molecular aspects of interfacial forces, friction and of atmospheric corrosion.

High temperature corrosion and environmental and health aspects of corrosion and oxidation.

Electrochemically induced corrosion phenomena and inhibition properties.

Adsobrtion and self-assembly phenomena of surface coatings and responsive layers.
