A smart study pause

Taking regular pauses while studying can improve your focus and well-being. Here are a few suggestions for relaxing activities – available both online and at the library.

Prioritising sleep, excersise and social activities strengthens your mental and physical health, which in turn makes it easier to focus, and manage stress. Find out more about why balance and recovery in everyday life is important.

One way to include pauses in your studies is to use the Pomodoro method. This involves setting a timer for 25 minutes of focused work and then taking a break for 5 minutes. You can use a timer in your browser .

Board games

In the library you can play various board games such as chess, backgammon and Man, Don't Get Angry, as well as doing puzzles with other students.
