Energy Network for zero-carbon Communities (ENCom)

ENCom is a knowledge and networking platform for collaborative energy research.

The motivation of the project generated firstly from the lack of communications between community initiatives to influence sustainable practices covering systematic solutions to achieve a carbon-neutral society, with regards, namely, to energy production, storage, use and conservation as well as novel energy management solutions to scale up collaborative local energy networks. The realizations that households can be a potential resource and a better starting point to conserve, store and use green energy thereby creating positive energy districts is not new. What can be novel is to learn the innovative elements to initiate and sustain the practices with citizen engagement and capacity building. This project aims to facilitate a knowledge platform focused on energy system solutions to achieve zero-carbon communities.
