Why did you choose this master's programme at KTH?

Beyond pen-and-paper math, the curriculum of this programme adheres to my passion for taking brilliant solutions from paper to real life. On top of that, the diverse range of courses allows me to explore multiple fields and engage in hands-on projects that mirror real-world scenarios. The programme's location in Stockholm adds to its appeal, as the city is well-known for its vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. With its strong support for startup incubation, KTH plays a significant role in fostering innovation and uplifting ambitious entrepreneurs. This stimulating atmosphere presents a rare chance for me to immerse in a culture of innovation and business.

What are the best aspects of your programme?

During my time in class, I have had the opportunity to participate in numerous group projects. What made it truly fascinating was the chance to collaborate with peers from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. Such experience granted me a deeper understanding of different perspectives and cultures. Moreover, it enabled me to learn a number of useful methods for managing communications and presentations that will significantly benefit my future career. Outside of class, I have easy access to various career services, such as career fairs and corporate events. These events offer invaluable firsthand information from experienced professionals who share insights about working in corresponding sectors and provide guidance on launching a successful career.

What are some of your favourite courses so far?

Among my favourite courses so far, Regression Analysis stands out. It offers a perfect balance between rigorous theoretical derivations and practical applications that are widely used in industry. The guest lectures by data scientists from a renowned company made it even more valuable. They assigned us a project involving real-world business data and applying statistical models. This hands-on experience permitted me to gain deep insights into data analysis and the accountability of statistical models. Instead of just learning theoretical concepts, we actually implemented them, ensuring they didn't remain mere theoretical knowledge. In addition, the Financial Mathematics Basic Course was particularly intriguing. The emphasis on the admirable principle of simplicity in that course is laudable.

How is student life in Stockholm?

It is truly incredible. The student community here is not harried and exhausted but inclusive and supportive, nurturing a sense of belonging. The well-structured educational system allows for a balanced approach to studies and leisure. One of the many things I love about Stockholm is its tranquillity, so when I am not busy studying, I enjoy strolling through the picturesque streets or sitting by the waterfront, pondering over lingering math problems. The city offers many cultural events and social activities for students seeking an exciting lifestyle, such as joining culture festivals, discovering landmarks, and hiking or kayaking.
