Why did you choose this master’s programme at KTH?

From the beginning of my studies, I had wanted to do my master's in a Scandinavian country, so coming to KTH felt like the perfect step. I was drawn to its sustainable mindset and inclusive atmosphere, and living in a big city made the experience even better. The Architecture programme turned out to be exactly what I had hoped for. It isn't restrictive and allows me to explore different sides of architecture through studios and seminars.

What are the best aspects of your programme?

I like how diverse the master's programme in Architecture at KTH is. Students don’t have to choose one specific track and follow it for two years; we are allowed and encouraged to pick a new studio course each semester. One semester you can work on the smaller scale designing furniture, and next can be dedicated to working out a masterplan on an urban scale, your next choice can be a surprise even for you!

How do studies at KTH differ from your previous studies?

At KTH, we have a lot of group work. It doesn't matter whether it’s a studio or a seminar course; most of the assignments involve working in pairs or groups. In my previous university, it wasn’t like this at all - tasks were mostly individual. Now I enjoy group work, but sometimes feel a bit disappointed that I didn’t have this experience before. I get to closely interact with people with different backgrounds and views, which prepares me for the work environment in architectural offices.

How is student life in Stockholm?

There is always something happening: festivals, film screenings, guided tours and constant fikas with friends. I love the balance in my day-to-day life: one day I can decide to eat my lunch in a greenhouse cafe next to the Natural History Museum and then take a stroll through the Odenplan - possibilities are endless! It doesn't matter if you live on campus or in the city; you can get as much exposure to the city as you wish.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master’s studies?

I would say: do it! Apply and spend your master's at KTH. For me, it has been an amazing experience so far, and I’m really looking forward to working on my diploma project here with teachers who have already supported and inspired me throughout my studies. Before starting my master's, I wasn't even sure that continuing my studies was the right choice for me. Looking back now, I can confidently say that I haven't regretted it for a second. I’ve gained so much knowledge and experience, met incredible people from all over the world and had opportunities that I wouldn’t have had otherwise.
