'''The people who attend KTH are so motivated and friendly with a broad spectrum of different personalities'

Jakob Huber comes from Sweden. He loves salsa and to make time for friends.

What made you choose KTH and Stockholm?
I chose KTH because it is one of the top universities in Sweden and has a very good reputation nationally and internationally. Another great plus is the possibility of doing exchange studies abroad all over the world at other top universities in interesting places. I moved to Stockholm to study, which was a very good decision. I had been here before, and it is a very old and beautiful city with nature just around the corner. You can visit the archipelago or the forest or see the national parks in the city, and this was especially attractive to me.

What do you like most about KTH?
The people who attend KTH are so motivated and friendly with a broad spectrum of different personalities. This results in the freedom of studying when you want and how you want. KTH offers plenty of great lectures and lessons, and studying with someone who is just as interested makes it even more so.

What are your impressions of Stockholm and Sweden?
In Stockholm, once you get used to the bustling and high tempo, you will love it because people are forward and motivated to achieve. There are things to do every day and new people to meet. Sweden otherwise offers varied weather over just a couple of days, diverse and beautiful nature, food that is great, and music they don’t make anywhere else.

What is your best memory from your time at KTH so far?
One of the best memories so far is the lecture in an elective course for those with general interest in math. The lecturer was one of the best, and several times he managed to hit homeruns in a pedagogical sense.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master’s studies?
Just do it! KTH is a great school and offers plenty of extracurricular activities with the student union and others. It will probably be one of the best times of your life, surrounded by likeminded and engaged individuals, it is more of a why not question rather than anything else.

What do you see as the most significant aspects of your programme?
In my case, I believe it is the fact that it is heavy on the theoretical aspects and focused on understanding the different topics in a fundamental sense. This is what studying means to me, in addition to the other students in my programme who are so motivated, and that keeps you going.

Are you taking part in any student activities?
I have taken part in Armada before and am currently taking part for the second time. It’s the biggest career fair for students in all of Scandinavia, and there are many great people to meet there. Previously I took part in the equality week and the DJ association, Platoon DJs.

Do you have a dream job after graduating from KTH?
I have been thinking of continuing my studies; however, working for Space-X would not be a bad idea.
