Why did you choose this master’s programme at KTH?

A few specific factors influenced my decision to choose KTH for my master's program. Firstly, I had an inherent desire to experience Scandinavia, especially Sweden, which is renowned for its high-quality education system. Moreover, I had heard nothing but positive reviews about Stockholm as a city, especially from a former colleague who studied here.

What are the best aspects of your programme?

The best aspects of my programme at KTH are its close ties with industry and the practical approach to learning. I appreciate the freedom this gives me to shape my education quite flexibly. The knowledge I'm gaining is incredibly relevant to today's industrial environment, which makes me confident about my career prospects post-graduation.

How do studies at KTH differ from your previous studies?

In terms of how studies at KTH differ from my previous studies in Germany, the first noticeable difference is the 4 Period System which helps distribute the academic load more evenly. Also, the coursework is filled with projects that facilitate more hands-on learning compared to the traditional 6 exams every semester pattern.

How would you describe your time at KTH so far?

My time at KTH so far has been a great adventure. I have completely fallen in love with Sweden, so much so that I plan to stay and work here after completing my degree. In the past year, I had a fantastic time in a lively environment with international students, making unforgettable memories and meeting amazing people at an incredible pace. The decision to come here was one of my best decisions until now.

How is student life in Stockholm?

The student life in Stockholm, though initially challenging due to the cold, is genuinely amazing. This Scandinavian capital offers an excellent balance between studies and recreational activities. The location of KTH, in particular, contributes significantly to enhancing the student experience.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master’s studies?

For students thinking about choosing KTH for their master's studies, I would say it's a brilliant choice! The journey might seem daunting at first, especially dealing with accommodation and the harsh winter if you're not used to it, but organisations like SSSB are there to help you out. Try to be as outgoing as possible when you arrive - having a good group of friends can be incredibly helpful. Embrace as many opportunities as possible, and you, like me, might find yourself planning to stay!
