Division of Polymeric Materials

The running research projects of the Division of Polymeric Materials deal with important issues for humanity: energy, food and water quality, source limitations, and health.

Current research concerns nanostructured polymeric systems, materials based on renewable resources, dielectric composite materials, polymer modeling, antibacterial polymers for packaging, and the environmental aspects and the long-term performance of polymeric materials in the life cycle of polymeric materials.

The Division has the motto to establish relationships between structure and properties to tailor-making materials for different applications and predict the behavior of a given material in real-life situations. Fundamental research involving theory, simulation, modeling, development of novel experimental methods, advanced experiments, and more applied research is pursued.
